Killerton House is also famous for its landscaped gardens that were designed by John Veith.
The house, which has recently had the roof completely renovated, is now back to its former glory. It is surrounded by a 6,400 acres estate that includes two chapels. There are a variety of walks around the grounds for different abilities where you can explore the local wildlife and the bluebells are spectacular at the beginning of May. Famous for its huge collection of 18th to 20th century costumes, there are also two restaurants on site - the Killerton Kitchen offering Bistro dining and the Dairy Café which is in the garden and has light snacks. There is a gift shop which promotes local produce, particularly its own estate flour. The plant centre is also worth a visit for those with green fingers!
