Lyme Regis, known as the Pearl Of Dorset, nestles in the middle of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast where Dorset welcomes Devon. It has a beautiful landscaped backdrop with fabulous coastal and inland views. Its famous 13th century curved harbour, known as the The Cobb, embraces a beautiful sandy beach. Inland, you will find lovely winding, cobbled streets with little shops selling all kinds of curiosities, alongside cafes and restaurants catering for all.
The Lyme Regis Museum tells the tale of Mary Anning, born in 1799 in Lyme Regis, who was a fossil collector and palaeontologist and famous around the world for her finds whilst exploring the Blue Lias cliffs.
Lyme Regis is the ideal resort to take children, with sand and boat trips, many games to play and breathtaking views all along the coastline. The marine aquarium and fossil walks are also not to be missed.
