Seaton Jurassic is a community-led centre that engages thousands of people with East Devon’s unique geological, coastal and marine heritage. Seaton has fabulous natural assets on its doorstep. In terms of the Jurassic Coast, Seaton is the gateway for the wilderness of Axmouth to Lyme Regis Undercliffs Natural Nature Reserve, a unique landslide complex within the World Heritage Site. In the other direction, the chalk cliffs of Beer are a spectacular landmark for the town and this striking white outcrop makes up an example of the third of the three key geological periods for which the World Heritage Site is famous (Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous), all of which can be easily accessed from Seaton, the only location along the Jurassic Coast where this is possible.
With a surprise around every corner and hundreds of things to see, touch and do, Seaton Jurassic has something for time travellers big and small. Become an explorer and experience ancient landscapes, face scary monsters and get shrunk down to the size of a shrimp! You could be the captain of their time-ship and travel through Jurassic seas or discover if you’ve got what it takes to survive the giant rock pool! Afterwards you can explore the tranquil and relaxing wildlife garden and find bug-hotels, birdbaths and perfect pollinators, creating a haven for wildlife.
Gift shop – Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift, or a unique souvenir from your trip to the Jurassic Coast, the gift shop has something for everyone and every pocket. Many of the products have been inspired by East Devon’s rich natural heritage. All have been sourced carefully and responsibly. Browse through a selection of artisan cards, wildlife garden accessories, scented delights and so much more.
Cafe – Relax with family and friends in the spacious cafe and enjoy freshly prepared meals and drinks. The menu changes regularly, making the most of what’s fresh and seasonal. From handmade cakes and thick cut sandwiches to rustic pastries or afternoon teas, the only additives used are their pride and passion for great local food!
