Hello and welcome back to all our lovely readers. We hope you are all keeping well. Did you get a chance to give our blog a read last week? It was all about Axminster, the beautiful and historic town located in East Devon. There is definitely much more to it than just carpets! It is a great place to visit if you are thinking of staying in East Devon with lots of activities and places to eat. Click here to give it a read.
Focusing back to this week however, we wanted to bring you something very Christmassy. We know that many of you love to come down this time of year to enjoy the Christmas Markets and the local crafts and produce, so this year we thought we would bring the market to you.
Products made by our members
Up first we wanted to share with you some very special products as they are made by our accommodation providers!
Huxtable Farm – Woollen Wonders and Pretty Prints
The first selection of products we have to show you is by Jackie Payne at Huxtable Farm Bed and Breakfast. At the farm, they have Jacob sheep and from the sheep, they use the Jacob wool to create both beautiful handcrafted woollen items and high-quality wool to knit items yourself. Some of the woollen items include throws, scarfs and sweet woollen teddys.
As well as the beautiful woollen products, Jackie is also a very talented painter and sells beautiful watercolour prints and cards.

Tupper The Tractor – By Quoit-at-Cross Bed and Breakfast.
At Quoit-at-Cross Bed and Breakfast, another one of our accommodation providers has published their very own children’s book ‘Tupper The Tractor’, written by Roger Hill. We asked Roger to tell us a little about his book and here is what he had to say;
‘The adventures of Tupper are stories I used to tell to our children when they were small and latterly to our Grandchildren.
Sadly in 2018, we lost our youngest grandson “ Raffy” at only 25 days old.
Our family were looked after at the Cots for Tots house attached to St Michael’s hospital in Bristol, where Raffy was being cared for.
Cots for Tots offers precious peace of mind to parents going through one of the toughest times of their lives. It covers the whole of the southwest of England.
Profits from the sale of the Tupper books support this wonderful charity.

Crafts
One of our members recommended a local shop to them called Fifth Sense, located in Modbury. The shop sells a range of gift style items including candles, soaps, wooden toys, cards from local artists and more. It is a great shop to purchase some “one of a kind” Christmas presents. For more information on what they sell click here.
Our next beautiful item is by Jackie Payne’s daughter (Huxtable Farm Bed and Breakfast), who creates wonderful prints. She is inspired by nature and leaves which is showcased in her beautiful work. She sells prints as well as cards and even has some charming Christmas style cards. For more information on her artwork or to order online click here.
Jackie Payne and her family are certainly a talented bunch as this next artist is another one of her children, this time her son. He has created beautiful prints of birds, one of his prints is a handy chart style print that identifies 23 of the most common UK birds. The artwork on the chart is lovely and would look fantastic in a range of homes. He has also created a secondary print with 100 bird species on it. To order yours today click here.
