What you can get up to
Dog walking
The winter holidays are one of the most joyful times to wrap up warm with a big coat, a fluffy hat and scarf and escape to the countryside. In Devon you are spoilt for choice when it comes to where to take your canine companion. Up first you could explore the rugged beauty of Dartmoor, there are variety of different walks available for all different abilities. Exmoor is another beautiful choice, with slightly softer scenery and gentler walks. If you would rather dash to the sea, then Devon is one of the best places in the country for beaches. Here in Devon, you can explore rocky coves to long sandy stretches. Be sure to take a look at our winter edition beach walks for more information.
Cities and Towns
When it comes to the cities you can explore the high streets of either Exeter or Plymouth. Both boast an abundance of high street brands and small boutiques to get stuck into those New Year sales. As well as the cities Devon is filled with lots of charming towns that are perfect for exploring with your loved ones.
Food and Drink
Delicious food is to be discovered in Devon, the cities and towns are bursting with restaurants and cafes. Virtually all the villages hide away an idyllic country pub where a famous cream tea or homely pub meal can be enjoyed.
